BirdLife International

BirdLife International
BirdLife International is a global Partnership of autonomous national conservation organizations that focuses on the conservation of birds.  Active in 118 countries all the national NGOs and local conservation groups around the world that form BirdLife share a common concern for nature.  Many work as conservationists, but the majority of members are volunteers, people who just love birds, and seek to support their conservation.  Understanding the human culture surrounding birds is vital for their and our survival, not only because of the recognition they have as environmental indicators, but because of the deep-rooted place they have in all human societies.  We hope that people throughout BirdLife will feel inspired to send in their own accounts, and stories, and that the Birds and People project will contribute to encouraging effective conservation throughout the world.
